Jewelry Design

Jewelry making was the first real type of crafting that I started. I don’t even remember what got me into it. I think it was visiting my cousins one day and saw them with their jewelry making kits out and having fun, that I went home and researched how to do it myself, and it just snowballed from there! Here’s where I’ll show you what I’ve made, and my journey to try new techniques and create different styles!

Game of Thrones Viewing Party

My boyfriend and I absolutely love Game of Thrones, and since I love hosting and planning parties, I decided to go ALL OUT for the season 7 premiere. We hosted a watch party for about 14 of our friends, and everyone had a blast! See how I created my own Game of Thrones party with themed food, cocktails and DIY decorations.

Cupcake Dishcloths

I made these crochet cupcake pot holders (or dishcloths) as a birthday present for a friend who LOVES cupcakes. I was relatively new to crochet at the time, and this was a great crochet pattern for beginners! It was so fun to learn some new stitches, like the Back Post Treble stitch that creates the ribbed look in the bottom of the cupcakes, and the Popcorn stitch that creates the ruffle on the edge of the frosting.

Totoro Amigurumi Crochet Doll

My first amigurumi doll!

A friend of mine who is having a baby decided to do her nursery in characters and motifs from the Japanese animated film My Neighbor Totoro, and I’m ecstatic! It’s one of my favorite movies, and her nursery is going to be so cute! To go with this theme, I decided to try my hand at amigurumi, the Japanese art of knitting/crocheting small, stuffed creatures out of yarn.

I decided to make amigurumis of all three “sizes” of Totoro from the movie for her baby (though I only ended up making the large grey one in the end)! I found the patterns for these on Pinterest from LucyRavenscar (which you can download for freehere). Here’s the FO shots:

Corpse Bride Cosplay

If you’re a beginner to DIY cosplay, altering existing costumes is a great way to practice your techniques! I bought a Corpse Bride costume online a few years ago because I loved the movie, but after seeing how cheap it looked, I decided to take it apart and add my own creative touches for a unique repurposed Halloween costume!
